Telegram in ToTheMoon episodes
On ToTheMoon, Telegram travels from news item to working tool. In 2024 it is a company argued over because of its founder's arrest and its losses; in 2025 a platform someone is trying to plug an outside model into; by 2026 the channel through which the hosts run bots and alerts in their own AI systems. The underlying question stays the same: what in Telegram can be trusted — encryption, numbers, or promised integrations.
Pavel Durov's arrest in France turned the messenger into a matter of jurisdiction in episode 021: the state treats Telegram as a service accountable for what happens inside it, while users saw it as a space almost outside the state. Episode 022 moved to the economics: a loss of hundreds of millions a year and the question of who carries the risk. In 2025 the channel followed Grok, from its integration for premium subscribers (episode 052) to the exchange between Durov and Musk, which episode 060 called not a deal until data, money, moderation and jurisdiction were settled.
Encryption keeps coming back. Episode 086 reminded that ordinary Telegram chats are not encrypted by default, and episode 106, discussing Durov's attack on WhatsApp, asked why he was talking about backup encryption when only secret chats are end-to-end encrypted. In 2026 Telegram mostly appears inside Alexander Volchek's own builds: login through a bot (episode 110), lead scoring (episode 128), and financial monitoring with no dashboard, where a report is a sentence typed into Telegram (episode 155). Episode 100 kept the caveat that automation had turned Telegram into a swamp of comments.
