Robotics in ToTheMoon episodes
Robotics on ToTheMoon is the story of AI leaving the screen for the physical world and how the price of a mistake changes. The hosts return to robots when talking about investment, the US–China rivalry, and their own expectations at home; the running question is what separates an impressive video from a product you could let into a house or a warehouse.
In 2024 robots appeared as an investment category and a demo. Episode 005 discussed the Boston Dynamics humanoid for Hyundai's factories, and episode 016 covered Skild AI, concluding that robotics is the new market NVIDIA wants to open and that the subject is very hard. In episode 035 the story of a small robot leading twelve others away from a Shanghai exhibition made the point: intelligence needs a body, manufacturing and a mass-market price, and that is China's strength. In 2025 episode 051 added that the next wave is robotics, while a warehouse robot still struggles to tell a bottle from an apple.
In autumn 2025 the conversation turned personal. Episode 082 looked at a home robot sold for twenty thousand dollars or by subscription: if a ChatGPT agent gets a food order wrong, a physical robot with the same uncertainty is worse. In episode 084 one host explained why he had cancelled his robot order: between the promise and a useful helper lie motor skills, service and liability. By 2026 the view had settled: robots work in controlled environments, but a home is far more chaotic (episode 092), and a city dropping its robot police officer showed that a working technology is not yet ready for a social role (episode 143).
