– Does a spiritual person need to possess certain qualities, and do they have specific characteristics such as calmness, balance, silence? What kind of person is considered spiritually developed? Do they have a particular tone of voice, are they unable to be груб, must they express themselves in a special way, withdraw into thoughtfulness, into silence – does that mean such a person is in a state of spirituality?
– There are also external attributes of a spiritual person. This is a person who wears certain clothes, is in certain places, sits in certain poses, looks a certain way – with long hair or a grown beard. This is a person who visits certain places.
The question arises: can such a person be seen, for example, in a coffee shop? A big question. Society says “yes,” but what does that mean?
Speaking about a coffee shop, I recall an interesting association. I live in California, and I remember how strange it felt to me when I saw people in police or firefighter uniforms in cafés, restaurants, or coffee shops. For me, it was an unusual perception. For locals, it is absolutely normal. Many may not understand what I am talking about. But for me, as a person who lived 12 years in Moscow and 27 years in Minsk, it was completely unfamiliar. You perceive these people differently; they seem different. And not just different people: it is as if they have different laws, different sensations, a different way of living. Certain circumstances are imposed on them, forming the perception of them as people with specific characteristics.
The world is changing, and it is unlikely that for many today a coffee shop evokes such feelings. A person may say: “Police officers in a coffee shop – that’s normal, it doesn’t cause any strange feelings.” But perception is formed from past experience. If I lived in an environment where coffee shops or restaurants were not very common, this is not an absolute norm. Just as my grandmother did not go to cafés – it was unusual.
There is a non-standard perception of people. If you see a person in monastic clothing, and this does not happen in Lhasa – the capital of Tibet – you automatically perceive them as spiritual. And in Lhasa, you will perceive everyone that way. But does this have anything to do with spirituality? Moreover, in different cultures, people dressed in non-religious clothing evoke different reactions. For example, in a Christian environment where there is no widespread Muslim context, a person in Muslim clothing is perceived differently. Are fully covered women perceived as spiritual? As a rule, society does not perceive it that way; more often it evokes other emotions. At the same time, a Buddhist in Moscow will be perceived as a spiritual person. A person in the Hindu tradition or in bright orange clothing is also perceived differently.
This is a vivid example of how perception works. On one side – a woman in the Muslim tradition, on the other – a person in Buddhist clothing. But perception changes not because of the essence of the person, but because of the external indicator.
Circumstances related to a person’s character are also superimposed. This is an introduced narrative aimed at dividing and separating the understanding that any person is a spiritual being, a spiritual structure, that every person has spiritual worlds, spiritual bodies, and that every person at the source is spiritual consciousness and creation, not a material set of organs or a physical body. The physical body is a part of the person. This is important because there are many concepts claiming that the material world is not real, and the real world is only spiritual, leading to separation from the material world.
Within the framework of basic perception, these parameters are imposed on a person. To understand them, it is important to consider: what is a person who speaks calmly, what is an irritated person, what is a person who expresses themselves with different intonations.
- How is aggression usually perceived?
Aggression is perceived by another person. This is their own perception. If we are communicating, and you say that I am an aggressive person, this will be your perception of aggression. There is my perception of myself, and there is your perception of me. These scales of perception can differ significantly.
In modern society, aggression is often defined by certain established parameters. For example, loud speech. But what does that mean? There are people who speak more quietly, and there are those who speak louder. Does that mean they are aggressive? Or is it simply a feature of their voice? For example, I speak quite loudly – does that mean I am in a state of aggression or transmitting it? Hardly.
From the perspective of using the voice and expressing psychophysical states, the expression of emotions has different causes. There are external causes. For example, if a person is being run at with a knife or if a bear is running toward them, mobilization occurs. Not only the body is mobilized, but the entire psychophysical system. Mobilization manifests differently in everyone. Someone may lose control or consciousness, while someone else, on the contrary, will gather themselves and move into a defensive reaction. This defensive reaction may be expressed as aggression. Is aggression something bad in such a case?
Is a sharp statement bad if falsehood is being transmitted around, and in order to tell the truth it is necessary to raise your voice?
This is a complex question. Difficult events are taking place in the world. There is a feeling that the world is in a state of silence, благость, romance, especially if we look at the period after World War II. But in reality, this is not so. There is a large number of conflicts.
Conflicts manifest not only in the military or cyber sphere, but also in people’s consciousness, in their attitudes toward each other. But it has always been like this—what has changed? Has someone started lying directly to your face? And before that, did they lie differently? What is the difference? When a person is in an environment with many conflicts, many discussions arise about the legitimacy of various actions: is it good to do this action or should it be done differently? Even if the action is expressed in the form of aggression.
When considering aggression, it is important to understand its source – protection, the intention to cause harm, or the desire to show truth? If there is no intention to cause damage, can it be called aggression? If we turn to the definition, aggression is motivated destructive behavior aimed at causing physical or psychological harm.
Here a very interesting aspect arises. Does this mean that I can start shouting, can raise my voice, can be in a state of external anger, but at the same time my internal state will not be destructive, not aimed at causing physical or psychological harm to another person? Can I be in such a state without directing any destruction? And who determines what is destruction? It turns out someone has defined it – what can be done and what cannot. Who defined this?
– Or it causes a person pain.
– Of course, and here the next question arises: what kind of pain exactly? Imagine a person who lies and steals. They are told: “You are doing wrong.” This causes them pain – from hearing about their actions. So who is aggressive at that moment? The one who performs actions and perceives this as aggression toward themselves? Or the one who tries to stop them and show that this behavior is unacceptable? Who is aggressive?
We see that there is a subtle aspect here. There is always truth, and a person is capable of making mistakes in determining it. A person cannot always distinguish what is truth and what is not.
When we talk about a spiritual person and their state, a question arises:
Can a spiritually developed person commit bad actions?
This is a question from another angle, but it is important for comparison with what was discussed earlier.
To answer this question, it is necessary to understand what a spiritual person is. When we discuss the topic of spirituality, it is important to proceed from the idea that the world is spiritual. If someone believes that the world is exclusively physical, then the discussion of spiritual development loses meaning. In that case, a “spiritually developed person” turns into a material description – a kind of label, similar to judgments like “beautiful” or “not beautiful”: is Louis Vuitton beautiful or not? Is a daisy beautiful or not? Is a painting beautiful or not? Is a sculpture beautiful or not? These are all questions of perception, discussion of forms and criteria.
Can a label be placed on a person? For example, if a person does not shout at children, does not argue with anyone, wears modest clothes – does that mean they are spiritually developed? Another question: do you know what is happening inside them? Can a person outwardly not show anger, but at the same time constantly be in a state of inner anger and suppress it?
This is an interesting aspect of observing a person. Imagine that you have learned to work with yourself and have begun to notice moments when you feel aggression toward others. You see the situation and restrain yourself. Is this restraint a sign or an anti-sign of spirituality?
– For me, it is probably an anti-sign.
– It is a relative point.
- On one hand, it is a sign of spiritual development: when you are working on yourself, developing, and trying not to harm another.
- On the other hand, if this is done demonstratively, to create an image, to hide your inner state and not acknowledge it – it is an anti-sign.
The very desire to understand and not cause harm is a sign of movement toward truth; a person wants to figure it out. But hiding it behind an external form, like a wrapper, is a completely different construct.
I have heard similar phrases from close people. For example, my wife sometimes said: “You hide the truth behind your spirituality.”
This means that there is certain behavior during the day. For example, I may come home, restrict something, express myself, or raise my voice at the children. And she says: “Look, here you behave this way, and here differently, as if you are hiding.” I respond: “I behave the same way in society.” My behavior does not change. And here, only the person themselves can determine this.
The most interesting thing is that this can truly be determined only by the person themselves or by initiated people who are in a state of vision and are able to diagnose a person from the outside. What does it mean “to determine oneself”? It means to understand why you perform certain actions. Do you truly act from the pursuit of truth, not for yourself?
Anti-aggression is an action, constructive behavior aimed at bringing benefit to another person. In this case, personal interest is absent.
In aggression, it can also be said that “the self is absent,” because the direction is toward the destruction of another. One can act thinking about another person, blocking negative actions, based on the understanding that it is necessary to carry light, goodness, love, remembering that each person is a human being, constantly remembering this not from one’s own motives of perception. Or one can restrain oneself for the sake of gaining benefit: to appear a certain way, to conclude the right contract, to receive an evaluation. From what motive does the action arise?
We live in a world where there is a huge amount of manipulation in this area. Later, revelations appear: it turns out one priest had a double life, another committed a crime, and so on. People like to observe such stories: “Look, he turned out not to be who he claimed to be.” At the same time, earlier they listened to him, attended sermons, without trying to truly understand what kind of person this is, without seeing the full picture and without understanding what exactly is being transmitted to them – ego or truth. This is the key question: is what is being transmitted to you coming from ego or from truth?
Can kindness be transmitted from ego?
Of course. Anything can be transmitted from ego – the most desirable and attractive. This is largely how human delusion and capture are built, including by luciferic energies: they can create in a person the feeling that they are Jesus Christ and carry light, truth, goodness, while the actions may be distorted.
The next question arises: can truth manifest not only through a smile and words of love, but through the resolution of situations?
Because the resolution of many situations is connected with completion or destruction: cutting down a tree, closing a building or a company, terminating activity. If there is an organization or people who perform harmful actions, their activity is restricted: the company is closed, fines are imposed, someone may be deprived of freedom. Is this a bad action toward these people? In fact, yes, these are bad actions.
I have a channel about artificial intelligence. Recently, we recorded a video about what safety is – the concept of AI safety, the safety of artificial intelligence in a broad sense. Many aspects were discussed there, but something else is important now.
The person with whom we recorded the video, Max, talked about how in science fiction, in Asimov, there were three laws of robotics: the creation of robots, non-harm to humans. The third law sounds especially interesting – not to harm oneself, if this does not contradict the first laws related to the safety of people and society. What does it mean for a robot “not to harm itself”? If a robot works for humans, how can it not harm itself? This is a very interesting thought.
In many countries, interesting things are being communicated regarding their citizens. They are viewed as robots, as hamsters. At the same time, different laws are used, but the key aspect is silenced – non-harm to each person. Just like with a robot: not to harm itself. Even if instructions come from outside, one can say: “No, I will not do this, because it violates other spaces; for your sake I will not do this – I will do completely different things for you.”
Therefore, when a person from a state of inner integrity acts sharply – for example, hits the table with their fist or says: “Everyone stop now!” – this can be a manifestation of protection. For example, if children have run into a forest where there are dangerous snakes, a person gathers all their strength to stop them. Or protects their home, takes it back. At that moment, truth may manifest differently.
What is truth?
The question is not how behavior looks, but from what state it originates. If it is truth, actions can be different.
And here we see that the concept of truth begins to be manipulated. They say: “This is the truth, therefore we killed these people,” “therefore we introduced this law,” “therefore I will communicate with my children this way.” This is transferred to society, to every person.
Constructs are formed: a child must be sent to school, then to another school, then to university, because otherwise they will not find a job and will die. This is how thousands of different “truths” are embedded into a person’s consciousness.
Spiritual development, the structure of a person, is very relatively expressed in their actions that they perform here. It is very weakly connected with what a person does daily, from the point of view of evaluating their consciousness.
A simple example: Lucifer is a fallen angel, a higher spiritual hierarchy compared to a human. At the same time, his actions are considered anti-human. This is an important point. Although from the point of view of spiritual development, this is a very serious spiritual structure. One might object: “We are talking about human spiritual development, without going into other hierarchies.” Then let us define by what criteria this is measured. These criteria are a specific aspect and need to be studied separately.
But now something else is more important. If a person said something sharply, spat on the asphalt, lit a cigarette, or raised their voice at a child – does this mean they are not spiritually developed? And here there is another important aspect worth paying attention to.
When we talk about a person, we are talking about a living spiritual being – absolutely alive. If we consider the spiritual world, it is important to understand: at any moment, any person can experience both a huge surge of energy and a significant decrease in it. Not all energy disappears, but a large layer of it may recede.
- A person may enter a state in which they lose perception. At that moment, they fall into an animal-like essence and may perform strange actions, even for a few seconds.
- Or, on the contrary: a person may be covered by a wave of certain energies, and someone who is usually unbalanced, restless, behaves sharply toward others, at that moment will manifest as максимально benevolent and attentive.
Even from such genuine impulses, truth may open to a person, and they will transmit it. At the same time, something else may happen to another person. This is important to understand.
Therefore, judging a person by individual actions must be done very carefully. It is important to look more broadly: what is happening, what causes lie behind certain actions. If a person is provoked a hundred times, on the hundred and first time they may show aggression because their psychophysical system cannot withstand it. Although before that, they may have made significant efforts that would be extremely difficult for most people. At a certain moment, circumstances and energies manifest, because a person is alive.
I have worked a lot with the body, including practices where another person works with the body. I had a close specialist to whom I sometimes asked the question: “Why has tension appeared again?” He answered: “Because you are a living person. The appearance of tensions, strains, injuries is natural.” A person is alive.
I am not even mentioning that we are not fully responsible for the events that occur. Some time ago, I went to an ice rink with my children and fell on my knees. I still feel the consequences. I fell accidentally, without an obvious reason.
I skated for a long time and quite well. It would seem, what is “falling once”? This micro-action caused an injury that may develop further. If it develops into something serious, it can already be considered as a karmic process. At the same time, it is important to understand: the karmic process works in both directions.
– How is that?
– Many believe that a serious illness is a consequence of actions, for example, from past lives. But an illness may be connected with events that are yet to occur. It may become the cause of future changes and build a certain balance.
One might object that karma is related to an untrue model of behavior and the need to correct it. However, an illness may become the basis for subsequent events that will lead to restoring balance.
Can a person, from a state of freedom, die earlier or not perform certain actions? Yes. In that case, the entire system of events is restructured. This is possible because the concept of freedom exists.
When we talk about freedom, we must understand: there is freedom of both “good” and “bad” events. That is its essence. Therefore, the level of freedom being discussed is close to a state of chaos. That is why purer states exist there.
In meditation No. 39 on the channel, I showed this state, which exists beyond the state of freedom and chaos, from the point of view of basic perception, what it is.
ANALYSIS OF THE QUESTION
Can the indicator of spiritual development be considered not just the ability to restrain anger, but a state in which it does not arise inside at all, because a person sees the reasons for another’s actions and instead of irritation experiences acceptance, compassion, or love?
From the very beginning, it is important to calmly understand and accept: the very fact of comparing spirituality, the very fact of evaluating a person’s spiritual development – this is already not a spiritual action. It is an egoistic action. Any evaluation in this case is meaningless.
We are talking about comparing people in terms of “more spiritually developed – less developed,” through volumes of energy or levels of development. Because there is always an attempt to place someone higher. Just as educated people sometimes place themselves above others. The very fact of such comparison is already not a spiritual system.
Can comparisons be made according to certain indicators? Yes, but not for the purpose of division or elevation. The first thing that is important to fix: all people are spiritual, all are developing. Why? Because movement exists in everyone. A person may move toward truth, may degrade, may deviate from their path, but movement always occurs. If a person uses this as a criterion to evaluate themselves or to appear better – this is not development, this is ego. If it happens naturally, not for demonstration, but as an inner state – this truly is a manifestation of evolutionary development.
The next question arises. Can a person at the beginning of the path perform “correct” actions without fully understanding them, simply because they were told about it? Because they read or heard that it is right?
Yes, they can. And this is better than not doing it. A person may realize that their actions are inadequate and still perform them because they may have read about it somewhere, for example. If an action is true by its nature, even if it is initially external, over time it may take root inside, but it must grow and form internally.
Therefore, a huge number of definitions that are broadcast in society are in falsehood. Often a person does not see what stands behind it. Why did I say that we live in a very interesting world? In the USA, the new president in his second year showed the whole world how politics can be conducted differently. For example, one can go out and say: “Eggs have become cheaper for us, not more expensive,” or “tomorrow I will make it green,” and then come and say “red.” One may object, show a recording that green was mentioned, but he says: “Red.” He began to do what world politics does. A person simply has a different manner of behavior that causes strange sensations in everyone. Everyone is used to it. They say: “Why say everything openly here? It is better not to say, just do something bad somewhere.” Everyone is used to a different kind of lie in terms of politics. This is just a different behavior of a person.
I gave this not to judge anyone or to point out that it is very good – just an example. This is a clear example of standout behavior models. One must look at what stands behind it in reality, what motive stands behind it in reality? Why is it so?
I often record videos in a specific space. I have a space where paintings hang. Are they hanging for filming or simply because they are there? This is important. Are the flowers in vases for filming or simply because they are in vases? This is a big difference. It is visible in a person: how they look on the street, how they look at home. How they speak in Zoom, how they are dressed during a conversation, how they are dressed and speak in the office, how they behave in a coffee shop, in a store, when meeting another person or on a dog playground, with friends or with someone else.
How does a person look overall? How is their life structured across a wide range? What perceptions do they have across a wide range? What do they do across a wide range? What do they see? Can they simultaneously be in different discussions and topics? What do they actually represent? What stands behind it? If a person performs certain actions, why do they perform them? What are the reasons for these actions?
My mother periodically gives examples of bloggers who talk about something in the USA. I say: “Mom, do not evaluate America based on how one person said something. It is important to understand that person’s motives. Perhaps it is a commissioned video. Perhaps it is the perception of another participant. Perhaps it is their current state or mood. Perhaps they had problems or, on the contrary, success. Perhaps they changed their opinion a month ago. You need to look in a range.”
It is very important to look in a range – at people’s lives in a broad contour. Then, observing a person who is called spiritually developed, one can truly see what stands behind it and identify certain aspects.
Otherwise, the question arises: people who engage in black magic, dark rituals, or other serious practices aimed at extracting benefit – are they not developed? If they are capable of doing this, what volume of energy is required for it?
What measures development? Are these labels? External signs – appearance, behavior, individual characteristics? Or is it measured by the range of truth of energy? And then – the truth of which energies, which worlds? What range of the world are we talking about? At what level are we looking?
From the perspective of the material world, stars have a physical structure. From the perspective of the spiritual world, stars are spiritual beings. A planet is a spiritual being, not just a material construction. Then what are we talking about? What we see in large volume is not a material object. And here it is important at what level the conversation is conducted and with whom it is conducted. This is also a matter of the ability to be in such a conversation. It is similar to the ability to have a conversation with children.
