Zoom is almost never a news item on ToTheMoon. It is a stock example the hosts reach for when discussing what a product with lasting value looks like and where AI embedded in everyday work is heading. Back in 2024, weighing whether OpenAI should be a platform or a work tool, the hosts imagined some Zoom with a built-in model and immediately doubted that operators like Zoom or Google Meet would plug in someone else's ChatGPT rather than their own models (episode 014).

The same episode produced a line the channel has repeated for years: there was a moment when Zoom was worth a hundred billion dollars, which always seemed odd, because it is not the kind of software that keeps a user for life. The hosts returned to that reminder when discussing why corporations struggle to adopt AI (episode 045) and during a noisy week of launches in which benchmark leaders changed within days (episode 085). A separate thread is the remote-work debate: in episode 005 one host admitted there are things he cannot do over Zoom regardless of his skills.

By 2026 Zoom sits on the side of things AI works around or replaces. Call recording in ChatGPT was framed by what one can do while sitting in a meeting in Zoom, Google Meet or Teams (episode 099), and a conversation about software that models now build themselves asked outright whether Zoom could be replaced easily (episode 136). The most practical case came in episode 150: an agent sorted through an overflowing Zoom cloud archive, found seventy or eighty unlabeled recordings, and exposed how inconvenient the paid storage is.
