Facebook is hardly ever discussed on ToTheMoon as a product in its own right; it appears as part of Meta's audience, through which the company tries to push its models, and as a reference point in conversations about distribution, advertising and trust. The hosts keep asking whether a huge and still active audience turns into real use of AI, or stays a number on a slide.

At the end of 2024, episode 031 said that Facebook, with Llama and its assistants, wanted to replace ChatGPT and had already built the model into WhatsApp. In episode 036 the hosts acknowledged the power of distribution — time spent in Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp dwarfs ChatGPT — but concluded that in terms of AI products Facebook was far behind and its open-source bet had not yet paid off. Episode 035 noted that Facebook explains personalization better than others do. One host, for his part, opens Facebook only on a plane, when the messenger is the only thing available (episode 038).

In 2026 the channel came back to the audience. Episode 091 reminded those who declare Facebook dead that seventy-one percent of American adults use it; episode 105 clarified that Meta's claimed billion model users are people who occasionally tapped the AI inside Facebook or Instagram, not people talking to a model directly. In episode 152, reviewing Zuckerberg's manifesto, the hosts guessed that the assistant was used mostly by Facebook employees and saw it as corporate power rather than AI that belongs to people. Meta's Oversight Board was described as a separate body for disputes over content on Facebook (episode 141).
