In this conversation with Olya, which continues the theme of Meditation 61, I look at whether you need to protect yourself from an external influence, cleanse yourself of it or try to “remove” it — and I consider the question more broadly: where does an external influence end and something that has already become part of a person’s own system begin?

Why is it so easy for us to explain what happens through the evil eye, a curse, a negative space or someone else’s energy? And do we understand exactly what we change when we try to remove one particular influence? I also look at how our own states affect our perception of other people and why understanding such processes requires learning to see life as a system of interconnections.

Why people are offered ways to “remove” negative influences

– In Meditation 61, the most recent one, you spoke about how various external forces and energies can affect a person, and you mentioned Ahrimanic and Luciferic energies. I’d like to explore this question: if a person begins to become aware of this, to feel it, or simply to study this area, what should they do with it? Should they strive to cleanse themselves of such influences, protect themselves from them somehow, or reduce their effect?

– Look, when a person immerses themselves in studying the spiritual world, very often many people on the outside, many spiritual leaders or some training programs start telling them that there is an influence on them and they need to free themselves from it. There is an influence on you — this influence needs to be removed. There is a curse or the evil eye on you — and this needs to be changed. This is the basic concept. And you have probably come across it: you go somewhere, and people often talk about negative components that need to be canceled, switched off. And this is often presented as an external influence — something that isn’t yours, that isn’t part of you.

And people like this very much. They say: “Switch it off me. I’m so strong, I’ll keep moving forward on my own without it.” Things didn’t work out for me because I was under a curse, or because someone gave me the evil eye, or because someone cast a spell on me. Or I went to some city, there was a negative space there, and things didn’t work out for me. And there is the reverse of all this: for things to work out for a person, they need to go to a positive space, get into a certain right retreat, listen to the right people.

External energies of influence: how they work

But the thing is, to talk about any external influences — including what I talked about when I led the meditation, number 61, I think — you first need a somewhat broader understanding of influences in general.

When we say that certain energies are influencing you, Ahrimanic ones, for example — is this influence of Ahrimanic energies external, or do you yourself contain the energies of Ahriman? That’s a big difference, you’ll agree. Do you yourself contain within you, within your spiritual system, within all your bodies, an Ahrimanic impulse, for example, or Luciferic energies, or some other energies?

Or is there, at this moment, some influence on you from outside — some energy that is constantly trying to break through to you or trying to use you, or has left a certain imprint on you, a certain mold, and that is why your circumstances unfold the way they do? What’s more, who created it? Was this energy released to leave this imprint and this mold? Did it do this, so to speak, without your agreement? Or did you generate it yourself — learn to do such things yourself and do them yourself?

It’s like approaching the question this way: you are terribly irritated with someone and say: “I’d like to kill this person.” In fact, a great many people in the world say that. Or: “I hate this person.” The presence of this energy — did you generate it within your whole spiritual system, or was this energy brought in, the result of a certain infection that appeared in you as a consequence of the influence of other energies?

  • When we consider, for example, the energies of Lucifer’s influence, this is a long period of interaction with your spiritual system and a long period of interaction with humanity.
  • When we consider the energies of interaction with the Asuras — those regarded as the dark side — this is a shorter period of influence. This period of influence is beginning, but it still has a certain course.
  • When we consider the energies of interaction with Ahriman, this is a considerable time of this energy’s influence.

Can we say that if Ahrimanic contacts were laid into the space around you and into your spiritual system over a long time, and not only during your current life, then you are a carrier of this energy, and this is, in essence, your inner state?

We know that a huge number of different viruses live in the physical body in any case. The question is the quality of the virus, its quantity and how manifest it is. A certain virus lives there, but if it is not manifest across a wide spectrum, it kills neither you nor the people around you. If it starts to manifest more widely, it begins to affect you, and some things can also affect what is outside.

Many things live in a person from the start. And when a person is told, “You’ve fallen ill,” did they fall ill, or was something simply developing? Take even the notion of cancer. I in no way want to belittle this problem; I regard long-term and serious illnesses with full understanding, where a person suffers, goes through difficult, serious aspects of living and especially experiences pain in the physical body. With all that, when we talk about cancer and a person is told, “You are now at a certain stage, and you could have done something or could not have done something,” — this is something that began developing one, two, three, five or fifteen years ago.

And when you are told that it has been developing for three years — who said it hasn’t been developing for ten? It’s a question of structure: is this something external?

No, it is your own. You weren’t poisoned — it’s your organism that began to react to life this way, in essence began to destroy itself.

There is the situation where I make a cut in my skin, and my system begins to heal. And there is the situation where a cut in the skin begins to destroy everything else, and everything else begins to get infected. This is a very powerful framework for perceiving life, life’s problems and understanding, among other things, different influences.

Why it is important to look at darkness and light in the same way

When we talk about dark influences, I always say: look at the influences of light in order to understand fundamentally everything that is happening.

Because if there are influences of light and they are not you — do you relate to them in exactly the same way as to the dark ones? If you say, “I don’t want any influences, I want to be myself,” do you really mean it? Are you really ready to give up the influences of light, or not? What do you actually want? This is in order to understand the whole picture. I am not saying you need to give this up, and I am by no means saying you need to move away from it. But the state of clarity of your consciousness, of your perception of truth, of your thinking is fundamentally based on an even understanding of both darkness and light.

Because from the point of view of the spiritual world, one could say, the higher you rise or the more broadly you look (since “higher” comes across as something extraordinary) — the more broadly you look at it, the more you will understand about the absence of darkness and light.

Recently a person in the Life group wrote in a reflection: “When I look at Buddha, I see this. When I look at Christ, I see this.” And then he writes: “Who am I, anyway, to place myself next to Christ?” A very interesting phrase in its essence, in the essence of study. On the one hand, you can’t place yourself next to Christ. It’s impossible. This is solar energy, an entirely different realization. It is not a human being, not simply a being — it is the spiritual evolution of the world.

And of course you can’t compare yourself to that, because the comparison is utterly absurd; it can’t exist. It’s like comparing an orange and a microphone — meaningless. What can we compare? We can compare color, we can compare weight, but the essence itself — these are completely different essences.

On the other hand, when he asks, “Can I place myself next to Christ?” — a very interesting aspect arises here. Inherent in the very understanding of the Christ impulse is that every person carries the Christ impulse within. This Christ impulse began to pour out fully several thousand years ago — into the etheric space, into the astral space, into the human I, and into the etheric space of the Earth; it is present in the physical space of the Earth, in different places.

Accordingly, you absolutely can do this, because from the point of view of the Christ impulse it is absolutely normal and reasonable to say: “I am in Christ, and Christ is in me.” This is true, it is pure truth.

So it depends on which zone we are looking from, what stands behind it, what it carries and from what energy you are considering it. I would put it this way: if a person says, “I am in Christ, Christ is in me,” does it carry, for example, an Ahrimanic impulse or the impulse of the ego-computer? If it carries the impulse of the ego-computer — and this can even be examined psychophysically, psychotherapeutically — then of course it is a negative aspect. But if it is truth from the point of view of seeing the spiritual world, then there is no ego-computer there, and it isn’t a problem at all. And his question was precisely about this: if I place Christ next to myself, maybe I am speaking through the ego, through the ego-computer?

This is where the aspect of understanding this whole system lies. How do you find the answer here? It’s a big question, because among any people who watch even this video, someone will say that I am narcissistic and speak from the ego-computer, and someone will say how honest I am about everything that is happening. Imagine — two planes at the same time.

Today I read a comment — I have a channel about technology and artificial intelligence, the ToTheMoon channel — and someone wrote there: “I opened Alexander’s website — how narcissistic he is in the way he writes everything.” Where do you see narcissism? In the fact that I describe the truth about my states, about what I live through, about what I examine, what I think, what I know?

Or is narcissism an impulse that is formed from your own spiritual system, from how you hear the world as it happens, and you overlay this spectrum of narcissism onto me because of your own comparison, which produces either envy or, on the contrary, a feeling of negativity toward another person? Or do you hear the impulse of narcissism from the external world, from the spiritual one? Do you see my spiritual system in full? This is, after all, a channel about the spiritual system — obviously, on the ToTheMoon channel I don’t answer people like this. Do you see my spiritual world, what stands behind me? And within this spiritual world, do you have a very clear answer? And do you understand this word and go beyond this word? Narcissism is, after all, a social word.

And I think that ten people out of ten will describe it differently and interpret it differently. Let’s go to Yandex or Google and ask what narcissism is. I always look up Russian phrases in Yandex. I opened it: “A psychological characteristic of personality reflecting the degree to which a person is focused on their own importance, self-perception and need for recognition.” Can it be called that? Yes, of course it can. If I constantly say that I study myself, can that be called narcissism? It can.

But if I say that I study myself because this is true human development — you cannot not study yourself.

In the same way, I try to study everyone and everything. And just as with a person who says I am narcissistic, or says it about some other person — I try to see where this impulse comes from in them. I try to study this person for real. That is the answer.

Obviously, this is the norm — and not even just the norm, it is the true reality of life. Focus on oneself is exactly what is needed. And what has been done over thousands of years by Luciferic or Ahrimanic energies, by ego-computers? It led a person to the idea that they shouldn’t study themselves, shouldn’t look at themselves, shouldn’t study anything at all — and, as a consequence, should move like an automaton, without working through anything. Of course, in this case a person’s reaction will be exactly what it is.

And next comes meeting the diagnostic criteria for narcissistic personality disorder: further on, it is considered a serious personal dysfunction or personality disorder. People often say that the word “narcissism” is usually used with a negative coloring, pointing to vanity, an inflated opinion of oneself, selfishness or simply self-love. So here we have arrived at selfishness.

And here is a very interesting aspect: is a person who lives life from the standpoint of selfishness even capable of distinguishing what a narcissistic person is? It’s impossible. So in general, the modern person can’t tell the difference. All people diagnose each other as complete egoists — everywhere, in all circumstances, without looking further: what is hidden behind this, what stands behind it, what the person is really saying, from what considerations and why they are saying it, how they reason.

Recently I happened to come across a reel with Pozner. He was asked whether he had cheated on his wife, and he answered the person who asked very rudely: “None of your business.” And this young woman says to him: “I think you answered me rudely. You shouldn’t answer like that.” He says: “It’s the same as if you asked how much money I earn. None of your business.” And she says: “Well, you could have answered.”

Look, a very interesting conversation. What is he talking about? About the fact that you are poking into what isn’t your business. And asking such a question is wrong in general from the point of view of energy: it carries the energy of a trap. What is this question being asked for? Why are you asking it? What energies do you want to receive?

You want to take advantage of the space, to manipulate it. And he stops this manipulation sharply. As if your child is approaching a cliff edge and you sharply stop them. You act quickly, in a flash, to save the person or to stop the negative influence of a negative energy. You act very sharply, through force, through circumstances.

Look at what this young woman says next: “I would have answered like this: I have enough to live on. I earn well, I have enough to live on.” This is a truly selfish answer. First, the person shifts it onto themselves — how they would answer. It turns out you want Pozner to answer the way you answer. And he didn’t go on to answer her like that, because most likely he wouldn’t have said that he has enough to live on or that what he earns is enough for him.

But maybe it isn’t enough for him. Who told you whether it’s enough for him or not? You don’t even really know what he thinks on the subject. Then you need to figure out how you relate to the concept of money in general. Why do some people want a great deal of money? And why do some people not want much money? Maybe he has an entirely different element of perception. I don’t know what his element of perception is, and I’m not saying here that anyone is good or bad. I’m showing you an example of how a person acts sharply in response to a selfish influence. Could this person say that Pozner is in a state of narcissism? Of course they could. But is it so? No.

On the contrary, he blocked an external influence. And when a person says, “Overall, I have enough to live on,” — if you look at it concretely and take this energy away, they are simply answering manipulatively, not genuinely. The person picks an answer for the listeners, rather than wanting to find out the truth or to tell what states they actually live in, what they think or what they do.

The very question “How much money do you earn?” is always inappropriate, because it gives no answer to anyone in the world.

My wife and I were just coming back from Los Angeles, where we had gone for a few days, and we were discussing the process of economizing and the very word “economizing.” I told her: “I never tell anyone to economize or not to economize.” It’s absurd. The very concept of economizing is fundamentally broken, absurd, because people can economize while earning a hundred dollars, a thousand dollars, ten thousand dollars, a hundred thousand dollars, a million, a hundred million dollars.

And there is no sum that takes away a person’s state of economizing. Now many people may object: “Alexander, you don’t understand, we’re living on our last hundred dollars,” or “My child is dying,” or “I can’t afford even the simplest food.” In fact, the person is mistaken, because the very fact of one’s attitude to life and the state of economizing is, again, a social coloring. I am by no means saying that a person who earns fifty dollars a month and has two children has an easier life than someone who earns five hundred thousand dollars — in terms of food, for example. But believe me, in terms of consciousness, things may be many times harder for a person who earns five hundred thousand dollars a week — in terms of their perception, their approach to life, their understanding.

And responsibility. Imagine that behind those five hundred thousand dollars lie crazy risks — a long prison sentence, for example — or an impact on other people. For example, you have sold people a certain service and can’t switch it off: if you switch it off, half a billion people on planet Earth will experience something. Take a wealthy person, for example Mark Zuckerberg — today he is, I think, sixth in terms of wealth. He has several hundred billion dollars in capital — in stock, of course. But if this person switches off Instagram and Facebook tomorrow, an incredible number of people will suffer psychophysical trauma. I’m not saying it would be wrong or that it would harm society. But overall, people would suffer.

I think that, in theory, it probably could be switched off, and the effect would be more positive than negative. We even see this in countries where various systems are blocked: in the end people cope with it and don’t replace it with huge negative over-aspects. But right now I’m talking about one person’s influence on something. And there are more serious things — when people are deprived of the ability to make calls, visit accessible medical facilities, use the internet where connectivity is necessary for survival, certain systems. There, people are dependent. And it turns out that a person with big earnings can be far more dependent in life than a person who has nothing to feed several children with.

Where work with dark, negative energies begins

This is an important aspect for understanding all the layers of perception. And this aspect will, of course, come out of a normal perception, an understanding of what dark or light energies are and whether you need to fight dark and light energies. And if you fight, then fight what?

To approach this question in a fundamental, true way at all, you need to learn to perceive life broadly. If you don’t perceive life broadly, then asking yourself this question is pointless.

Because even if you go to an outside person and this outside person helps you with something, you never know what exactly they helped you with by switching off, say, one of your programs or functions, some energies or circumstances, and what is happening for you in another place.

It’s the same as the question: can you calm down? You can calm down — go away for a week to rest in good company. But for many people going away for a week will bring huge losses. Imagine the president of some country went away on vacation for a month. Perhaps things would get easier for him, he would start feeling better, sleeping more. The presidents of the top twenty or thirty countries don’t sleep — it’s a very difficult life from the point of view of the human system. Could he bring something better into his life? He could. But he would create a huge number of other problems for himself.

So, from the point of view of energy, a person simply doesn’t see the interconnections of this energy. What will happen when you lose something? I have always asked a number of people: suppose you disconnect from difficult dark energies.

But imagine that this dark energy gives you certain socially positive things. Are you ready to disconnect from that?

And I notice that people answer very differently. I have seen a huge number of people who chose to keep, quite deliberately, the influence of dark energies. What did they say? “We don’t fully believe that it’s dark.” Although everything there was clear — again, clear from which description, from which zone we are objectively looking and what we are considering. In all things, study is very important — deep study.
