How it works

How the program works

The group meets every four weeks, and between the meetings there are questions and answers, reflections, assignments and meditations. The rhythm comes from the life of the group, not from a calendar a year ahead.

A month in the program

What happens every month

every 4 weeks

Group meeting

Online by video call, usually on Friday at 8:30 a.m. Pacific time: evening in Europe. Sometimes a meeting comes after 3 weeks. The meeting is held in Russian. It is recorded, but it is better to be there live.

when the group needs it

Meditations and additional meetings

Closed meditations of the group and separate meetings to go through questions. They happen when the group needs them, not on a schedule.

Questions

A question is written in the group when it comes up. I go through the questions during the month: by voice in the group, at a meeting or through an assignment.

Reflections

Participants write about what is happening with their state, their perception and their practice. I read the reflections and answer them.

Meetings

A meeting every four weeks

Online by video call, usually on Friday at 8:30 a.m. Pacific time: evening in Europe. Sometimes a meeting comes after 3 weeks. At the meeting: a theme, a meditation, the participants' questions. The meeting is held in Russian.

The meeting is recorded, and the recording appears on the site: video, a separate audio track and a transcript. But taking part live and watching a recording are not the same thing.

“Try to set aside this time. If anyone can't make it, there will be a recording. But it's better to be there.”
Alexander Volchek · before the first meeting
“I'm so transformed in my perception after our meetings. … I rewatched the last meeting, and it didn't land as deeply as it did in real time. I want to write down a lot right away, but I don't feel like getting distracted either; it's good there's a recording, after all.”
Participant · second year in the program
“It felt as though all week you're tossed every which way by the waves of everyday life, and on Friday evening you come into a quiet harbor.”
Participant · ninth month in the program
“A very good state after the meeting. The dejection that had been engulfing me this week is gone. Lightness and a sense of freedom have appeared.”
Participant · sixth month in the program
“The realization came that lately I'd been sitting and stewing in a borscht of some kind of energies; after the meeting I have the feeling that I've surfaced from it, and clarity has appeared. A gulp of air.”
Participant · second year in the program
The first group's rhythm

How the first group met

Over 21 months: 31 meetings, 15 meditations and 1 additional meeting recorded. On average the group met every 21 days, most often on Friday; a usual meeting lasted about 2 hours.

The dates and lengths come from the recordings themselves: the first meeting on February 7, 2025, the latest on October 30, 2026. Each mark in the calendar stands for one recording.

3 weeksbetween meetings 18 times of 30

Of the meditations, the calendar shows only the group's closed meditations: the Friday meditation broadcasts are not in it.

Questions and answers

Questions are answered within the month

A question is written in the group when it comes up. The answer comes by voice in the group, at a meeting or through an assignment: sometimes the same day, sometimes two weeks later. Every question is answered from spiritual vision.

“I mean, I may answer every day for a whole week, or I may not answer for two weeks. That means these questions have to sit for a while, sit, stay, remain there.”
Alexander Volchek · on when answers come
“Once again: this group is about spiritual development and spiritual perception. Spiritual development and spiritual perception.”

Reflections

A reflection every week

A participant writes about their state, their practice and how they are living through what happens. I read the reflections and answer them.

“I want to send you a little video reminder so that you write a reflection on your state without fail once a week. On what you feel, how you are living through things, how you are living through the spiritual world, how you are living through the material world. … Even if you read one line a day, that's needed: you need to write about it and report it.”
Alexander Volchek · on the weekly reflection
“Then the mind wants to find an explanation for it, gets shy, wants to embellish it somehow or describe it: that isn't required. Saw it, noted it.”
Alexander Volchek · on how to write a reflection
“…the most vivid experience was when I caught myself making up what I'd write in the reflection, and I thought about how strongly I'm subject to false goals and how many of them I live through … I mean, in the moment, the goal of the meditation (what I apparently consider the result) = the written reflection, and not the lived experience of the moment itself”
Participant · second year in the program
“Huge resistance to writing reflections... Or rather, on some level I even want to do it, but I get in my own way... … For now it's not clear how to do the assignment itself, but the very understanding that ‘this is possible’ inspires me a lot.”
